The Basic Powder Metallurgy (PM) Short Course is the powder metallurgy industry’s longest running course—celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2014. If you or your company’s employees are new to the PM industry, this is the course for you. Now including metal additive manufacturing, this year’s seminar features a tour of the Center for Innovation Materials Processing through Direct Digital Deposition.*
Event Location and Date: August 12–14, 2019 • Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel • State College, Pennsylvania
PMTi2019: Powder Metallurgy and Additive Manufacturing of Titanium
Global experts on powder metallurgy and additive manufacturing processing of titanium and titanium alloys will gather for academic exchange and technology transfer in Salt Lake City at the University of Utah for PMTi2019. After four successful conferences held in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and China, PMTi is coming to the United States for the first time.
The annual International Conference on Injection Molding of Metals, Ceramics and Carbides provides the opportunity for product designers, engineers, end users, manufacturers, researchers, and students to come together to hear the latest R&D in powder injection molding (metal injection molding, ceramic injection molding, and cemented carbide injection molding). Manufacturing innovations discussed include part design, tooling, molding, debinding, sintering, and more.
MIM2020 will take place in Irvine, California, on March 2-4, 2020, at the Hotel Irvine, Irvine, California.
PIM Tutorial
Powder Injection Molding Tutorial
Monday, March 2, 2020
Conducted by: Randall M. German, FAPMI
Professor Emeritus, San Diego State University
This course will provide a basis for determining options, uses, properties, applications, and opportunities for cost-effective PIM manufacturing. Individuals who will benefit from the tutorial include engineers, business managers, procurement managers, component designers, and technicians. This course is a must for consumers of PIM components and organizations that are exploring the opportunities associated with developing their own PIM manufacturing facilities. Registrants will receive the publication Metal Injection Molding—A Comprehensive MIM Design Guide.
This tutorial is held just before MIM2020: International Conference on Injection Molding of Metals, Ceramics and Carbides. You are not required to attend the conference to register for the tutorial.
Three Big Conferences for One Global Event!
WorldPM2020 presents the largest global powder metallurgy (PM) and particulate materials event of the year, and it only happens once every six years in North America. From June 27 through July 1, 2020, join the PM industry in Montreal, Canada.
WorldPM2020 is the leading North American conference on powder metallurgy and particulate materials and a hub for technology transfer for professionals from every part of the industry, including buyers, specifiers of metal powders, tooling and compacting presses, sintering furnaces, furnace belts, powder handling and blending equipment, quality control and automation equipment, particle-size and powder-characterization equipment, consulting and research services, and much much more. The conference hosts technical presentations from worldwide experts on the latest research and development, and holds the largest annual trade exhibit in North America containing the leading suppliers of PM, particulate materials, and metal additive manufacturing processing equipment, powders, and products.
Focusing on metal additive manufacturing, AMPM2019 will feature worldwide industry experts presenting the latest technology developments in this fast-growing field. This conference is co-located at a global powder metallurgy industry event, the biennial World Congress on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials WorldPM2020. Additionally, Tungsten2020, the International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory, and Hardmaterials will also be held for the first time in six years.

Tungsten2020: International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials
The 9th International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials was held in 2014 and numerous developments have taken place in the intervening years. Remarkable among these has been the explosive development of additive manufacturing (3D printing) using refractory metals and alloys, and their carbides. There has also been a notable initiative, driven by concerns for environment, safety, and health (ESH), toward the development of cobalt-free carbide and alloy compositions. The time period has also seen growth in the interest of field-assisted sintering technology (also called spark plasma sintering) of refractory metals and carbides. Further, there has been advancement in the particle deposition method called cold spray for refractory materials. Interest in nanocrystalline materials remains high and there have been several interesting developments in the area of nano-phase refractory metals and alloys.
